Speaking on the FMB’s ‘Build Up From the Basement’ podcast, he said: "We need skilled trades like the building trades to be recognised for being the skilled craft people that they are and the quality that they deliver.”
The MP also touched upon the additional argument to this, that it would help make it more difficult for rogue traders to operate.
Citing constituents who lost thousands on supposed builders who then promptly vanished, he added: "It's about credibility.

The FMB has welcomed the MP’s support for the profession and the need for a licensing framework.
